STEP FOUR: What are the three lessons you learned from what DID work?
1. The best place to be is near to God. From Charles Spurgeon, "Nearness to God brings likeness to God. The more you see God the more of God will be seen in you."
2. God is good and so faithful. No matter how many steps I have taken away from Christ, it only takes one to come back. That step is repentance.
3. We have only one life and it is to be lived! From Psalm 118:24, "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
STEP FIVE: What are three things you learned from
what DIDN'T work?
1. I am indeed a sinner and I need the gospel daily. From 2 Corinthians 5:21, "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."
2. Discontentment and worry steals joy and ultimately robs God of His glory.
3. Only God can calm my anxious heart. From Psalm 46:10a, "Be still and know that I am God."
STEP SIX: What is your 2013 VISION?
What kind of life do you want to live this year? Where do you want to be when you're 80? WHY do you do what you do? What is your mission?
What kind of life do you want to live this year? Where do you want to be when you're 80? WHY do you do what you do? What is your mission?
Where do you want to be when you are 80? Zealous, content and a faithful ACTIVE
servant of Christ! I hope my relationship
with my God is oceans deeper than it is now.
Why do you do what you do? Because Jesus gave me the greatest gift -the forgiveness of my sins and the assurance of eternal life in heaven. Also, that at the end of my life, I may hear these sweet words…‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
What kind of life do you want to live this year? One that serves and gives and that has a Heaven-bound perspective. A life where I am physically and spiritually strong in order to serve others faithfully. <<< I liked Lara Casey's answer for this one! I also want to live a life full of love, new experiences, and finding deeper joy in my Maker.
MY VISION FOR 2013: To seek my Father’s face and live in his love. I pray this year I will be holy, humble, devoted, and diligent. I pray I will be fervent in prayer, celebrate frequently, live intentionally, and be zealous for the Gospel. I look forward to a year with more solitude and joy, new friendships and deeper relationships with those that I love. My vision for 2013 is that it would be less in me and more in Him.
